The Canadian is hur!
Woot woot! Wow, it sure sparks memories seeing it look so similar to the old forum! I'm really disappointed it doesn't work on my phone as it tends to be my number one method of communication lately between two jobs and the horses but I'll do my best to hit the laptop and check a few times a week!
For anyone new, I am Moki (long funny story involving a troll unable to spell Mikolaj) and I am a 27 year old Canadian female with two lovely horses. Zierra has been my baby since she was born 14 years ago and although spazzy, she's always fun. She's dabbled in a bit of everything from jumping to Dressage to gaming, but some front leg tendon sheath issues keep her soundness a little sketchy from time to time. She currently has a wonderful partboarder who gives her the love and attention she deserves and doesn't take her shit! She will most likely be doing some barrel racing/gaming on her this summer! My other little sweetpea is Jynx, my Dressage protege in training! I bought her as a 2 year old because I felt sorry for the ugly little Paint in the pasture and figured I could turn her into a decent trail horse. She shocked all of us I think when she should such a penchant and enthusiasm for the athletic workings of Dressage and jumping. She's a born diva and HATES that Western stuff - so much for being my barrel racer! We are hoping to finally do some sanctioned Dressage shows this summer and looking forward to it!

Re: The Canadian is hur!
I know, it blows my mind how such a scrawny and ugly two year old could mature into something so lovely. She definitely has her minor issues, one minute she's a staid lazy 20 year old plow horse and the next you'd swear she's a 3 year old TB straight off the track. Mostly just herd boundness issues though, she doesn't have much buck, rear or bolt in her unless it's an extreme situation and is pretty unspooky on the trails! We had a fairly lousy start to our show season last year due to her extreme anxiety and herd boundness at shows and my own anxiety. I finally managed to get my nerves under control and be her support and her last two shows last year went BRILLIANTLY. Ironically, she does 10x better if she goes alone then with a barn buddy so our Dressage shows should go well, it's just the schooling shows that are questionable when Shay-la brings Justus and then Jynx freaks when she can't see her. Our last show of 2012 was a schooling show though and by putting Jynx in the last stall away from Justus where she couldn't see her and staying calm, we did GREAT. My goal is to keep that positive energy in 2013!
Some more pics of Jynx from last year!
June 2012, Schooling show right before her first ever jumping class (crossrails) which she completed nicely! We didn't pin of course but no refusals or panics!
June 2012, Schooling show doing our first every Training Level test. We didn't pin because my scoliosis got the best of me and my rider marks were pure crap, but I burst into tears at the end because she was SOOOOOO good. We actually got 7's on our canter transitions which was just unreal for me.
Jynx with my coach at her first sanctioned Dressage show where they were beyond phenomenal. She got 70.1% on her first test out and the other three were all above 65% (Training Level). The only reason she didn't champion is because she was up against a Warmblood who's been campaigning for YEARS and competed at much higher levels and he got over 70% for all his tests. Because they did Bronze, there was no reserve champion but she was champion in my heart!
Same show (September 2012) in warm up
Same show again with an almost perfect halt!
Me and Jynx schooling at home this winter
Me and Jynx during a lesson with my coach
Jynx with her partboarder who's just learning how to jump (only rode Western before meeting me late last summer)
Again with her partboarder over a crossrail
Again with her partboarder over 2'0"! She's such a little packer over fences!
At our October 2012 schooling show where we did jumpers for the first time EVER and she WON 2'0" jumpers out of 20 horses. I was in AWE of how little she cared about some of the terrifying jumps. We also got 3rd in the 2'0" Horse/Human Relay!
Again! Last fence before the finish line, go go go!
2'0" hunters! I know we pinned but I don't remember what, I think 4th or 5th? All classes had 15-20 riders, so very exciting for me!
I love this pic! Heading out to do the 2'0" Horse/Human Relay with my best friend! Shay-la won this class (with my running), our barn mate won 2nd (with her sister running) and I got 3rd (with Shay-la running)!
And finally, end of the October 2012 show! After such a dismal beginning (I think we managed 2 ribbons at the same show in June out of about the same number of classes and they were both for fun classes), my little girl kicked ASS and pinned in every class we entered except one! (Show hack, 40+ entries!) I was on CLOUD NINE and 2013 will be even better!
Hahahaha sorry for the massive spam, but I am SOOOOOOO thrilled with how far this girl has come! For anyone who doesn't remember or hasn't seen, THIS is the mangy unkempt animal I fished out of a pasture 4 years ago:
